Peltra Energy at WCCS 2026: Sustainability Partner at the World Carbon & Climate Summit
Peltra Energy served as the Sustainability Partner at the World Carbon & Climate Summit (WCCS) 2026, held on 6 August at Aerocity, New Delhi. The summit brought together clean-energy leaders and project developers to discuss the future of biomass pellets, Compressed Biogas, and biochar in India's decarbonisation journey.

Peltra Energy was proud to serve as the Sustainability Partner at the World Carbon & Climate Summit (WCCS) 2026, held on 6 August 2026 at Hotel Pride Plaza, Aerocity, New Delhi. The summit brought together industry professionals, project developers, policymakers, and sustainability leaders shaping the future of renewable energy in India — and gave us a valuable platform to engage directly with the people driving the sector forward.
For a company built around biomass market intelligence and consultation, the summit was more than an event. It was a chance to test our convictions against the perspectives of peers across the clean-energy ecosystem, and to understand where the industry believes the next phase of growth will come from.
The Biomass Sector's Growth Trajectory
Our conversations at WCCS 2026 centred on the significant growth underway across the biomass sector — particularly in biomass pellets, Compressed Biogas (CBG), and biochar. As India accelerates its clean-energy transition, these three segments are emerging as critical pillars for reducing carbon emissions, strengthening rural economies, and building a circular bioeconomy.
The timing of these discussions was notable. With the recent approval of the ₹23,731 crore GOBARdhan National Circular Bioenergy Scheme and expanding co-firing mandates for biomass pellets in thermal power, the policy momentum behind the sector has rarely been stronger. That momentum was reflected in the tone of the conversations at the summit — a shift from asking whether biomass energy will scale, to asking how quickly and through which mechanisms.
Key Themes From Our Conversations
Three themes emerged consistently across our discussions with fellow participants.
Market growth was the first. There is rising domestic and export demand for biomass pellets, alongside the rapidly expanding role of CBG under national programmes like SATAT and the newly consolidated GOBARdhan framework. Developers and investors are increasingly viewing biomass not as a niche renewable but as a mainstream energy category with assured demand.
Plant setup and scalability was the second. Much of the practical discussion focused on the operational, technological, and feedstock considerations involved in establishing efficient, financially viable production facilities. The consensus was clear — securing reliable feedstock supply chains and building operational consistency matter as much as the technology itself when it comes to plant success.
The future outlook was the third theme. Conversations turned repeatedly to the long-term potential of biochar in carbon sequestration and soil health, and to the policy momentum now driving investment across the sector. Biochar in particular drew strong interest as a genuine carbon removal pathway — one of the few technologies capable of storing carbon durably while creating value for farmers and manufacturers.
A Recognition We're Grateful For
Beyond the conversations, WCCS 2026 was a milestone for our team. Peltra Energy was recognised for its work in sustainable energy at the summit — a recognition we see not as a destination, but as a validation of the belief that drives us: that sustainable biomass energy can power India's future while cutting carbon, creating rural livelihoods, and building a cleaner planet.
This recognition belongs, above all, to our team — to every member whose effort, dedication, and commitment make our work possible. We're grateful to Hardik Mahavarr and the team at Excovents Exhibitions for organising a well-run, impactful summit, and for the platform and trust placed in Peltra Energy.
It was also an honour to share the space with leaders, innovators, and changemakers working to shape India's path toward a low-carbon future. Conversations like these are exactly what the biomass and clean-energy sector needs to move from ambition to action.
Where We Go From Here
WCCS 2026 reaffirmed something we already believed — that biomass energy will play a defining role in India's decarbonisation journey, and that realising its potential will take collective effort across the industry.
At Peltra Energy, we remain committed to advancing sustainable biomass solutions and contributing to a cleaner, more resilient energy future. Through our market intelligence platform at PelletRates and our consultation work across biomass pellets, CBG, and biochar plant development, we work with entrepreneurs, manufacturers, and investors entering this sector — and summits like WCCS strengthen the industry relationships that make that work more valuable.
We look forward to continuing these conversations and building meaningful partnerships across the industry. This is just the beginning.
